3D City Database
The 3D City Database is a free Open Source solution for saving and managing 3D city models in CityGML format using the Oracle 10/11g database. It includes the database schematic, a powerful Importer / Exporter for 3D city models and KML / Collada export for publishing 3D city models to Google Earth.
The 3D City Database supports the complete CityGML schematic so that complex 3D city models can be stored efficiently with different level of details and appearance models. In addition to the database schematic it includes a powerful Java-based Importer/Exporter for CityGML data, supports coordinate transformations and a flexible, configurable KML /Collada export with matching/merging capabilities for merging of different LOD levels of an
object together.
The 3D City Database has established itself as a neutral and cost-effective alternative to proprietary server solutions and is already in use by German municipalities as well as global engineering companies and leading European universities.
