LoD1 and LoD2 from airborne LiDAR for the Frankfurt Survey Department

In just eight weeks, virtualcitySYSTEMS created over 200,000 buildings in LoD1 and LoD2 from airborne LiDAR for the Frankfurt Survey Department. The total area of the project encompassed 250km2 including Frankfurt International Airport. Object attributes from the municipal ground cadastre were saved to the building geometry and finally saved in CityGML 0.4.0 and 1.0. A streaming data set was then created to enable more efficient real-time visualization of the entire city.
